Perry must boost farm assessments in 1980 session
The Perry County Board of Review plans to reconvene to raise farmland assessments after the Illinois Department of Revenue said the 1979 level is too low under new rules capping increases at eight percent. The board hopes to reassess each property rather than apply a blanket multiplier, with an August mail date for tax bills possible. A new soil survey by the Soil and Water Conservation District will guide the 1982 quadrennial reassessment.
