Mother graduates after 24 years at SIUC
Claudette Simon, a mother of three with a full-time job, earned a bachelor of arts from Southern Illinois University Carbondale after returning to school in 1976. She began in 1956 with an associate degree, balanced work and family, and finally completed the degree this month, aided by library study sessions and a supportive workplace. Her children describe pride and mixed feelings as she joined the student body.
