The Carbondale Community High School Board temporarily changed its policy on distributing literature after students and an attorney argued the school violated free speech. Outside publications may be picked up at central learning centers on three campuses, rather than at the principal’s office, while the Monitor remains the only paper freely passed around campus. The board approved learning centers as central deposit points until term end, with debate on a permanent rule to continue.
