Illinois wetlands bill dies again in committee
SPRINGFIELD AP The Senate Environment and Energy Committee rejected a wetlands rules bill for the fourth straight year by a 5-3 vote. It would have let northeastern Illinois counties keep stricter rules while applying standards statewide. Cook County and Chicago would be exempt. Environmentalists vow to return next year.
