Cleveland rescue exposes police handling of missing cases
Authorities review past calls after three women held captive for about a decade were found safe in a rundown Cleveland house. Neighbors recalled prior reports of a naked woman in the yard and pounding on doors, but police did not enter. Ariel Castro and two brothers were arrested as the home’s owner and suspects. A 6 year old girl believed to be Berry’s daughter was found inside. The case echoes earlier criticism of missing person investigations and calls for reform.
