Humanists Center Religion on Man at Indianapolis Church

At All Souls Unitarian in Indianapolis many members are humanists who view man as the center of religion. Pastor Rev. Paul H. Beattie, a humanist leaning toward atheism and head of the Fellowship of Religious Humanists, says religion should be explainable by observable realities without supernatural constructs. He notes fundamentalists screen out information and overlook important issues.

Beattie argues humanism as future worldwide faith

Beattie promotes humanism as dominant in academia and a path to influence global destiny without mass movement. He favors Unitarianism, critiques the Bible for being humorless, supports birth control, abortion, genetic records, and eugenics as ethical issues. He cites his journey from Baptist to Methodist to Unitarian and notes his role at All Souls Church.
