Malone defends use Birth control book reinstated
The Birth Control Handbook ban at Southern Illinois University Carbondale was reversed after executive vice president Malone defended its use as a supplemental text. Instructor Steve Wunderle said the book was returned and available to students, though his biology class no longer requires it. Wunderle said Hadley wanted the book removed from the library and not used, a point Malone addressed by affirming academic freedom and the need for additional texts when a reading is offensive.
