Williamson cleanup work continues as EPA drives litter
Williamson County Board Chairman William Sinks said cleanup crews have been assigned to remove litter from highways under EPA orders. Two sites near Blairsville Township were reported clean but expected to regrow litter, with work orders issued to haul trash to landfills. The EPA is conducting a regional litter drive and has mailed notices to officials. A courthouse motor blowers system was repaired after a power outage affected 2000 customers, with an inquiry to ensure safety devices would have prevented damage. Repairs incur no bill yet. The board approved a $6500 tax anticipation warrant for Civil Defense to fund Ordill heating system upgrades at CD headquarters.
