Jackson County sees assessed value rise with new construction
County officials report Jackson County’s 2003 assessed property value up 4.1 percent over 2002 excluding new construction, and 7 percent including $15 million in new builds. They caution tax bills may not rise accordingly due to tax caps and the shared tax burden. County Clerk Reinhardt notes the 1.0 multiplier keeps districts fair across counties.
