Franklin County seeks funds to finish 38-bed juvenile center
Franklin County officials push a four year effort to complete a 38 bed juvenile detention facility with $1.8 million in grants and local funding. They warn the project could sit unused if the Illinois General Assembly fails to provide year long funding, costing about $250000 annually in interest and transportation costs. Local officials urge lobbying to amend the budget and secure support from state lawmakers.
