Marion schools face renewed bias claims over Hill assemblies
In Benton court filings, attorney Richard Whitney pursues First Amendment privacy claims against Marion School District alleging teachers may interview applicants by religion and that religious materials are distributed in schools. He says Marsh and daughter suffer retaliation from the Hill case, while the district contends Marsh lacked standing as his daughter wasn’t a party to the fifth grade assembly. Whitney seeks injunctions blocking religious material and future assemblies with religious motives.
