Three Sustains Injuries On Freeman Spur Road

In Springfield a coalition of more than 200 representatives from seven unions announced a new organization The State Conference For Illinois Heavy and Highway Construction to push more state construction projects creating jobs. Six Airmen Die in B 25 Crash at Lebanon

Washington May 1 UP John L Lewis planned meetings with co trustees of the United Mine Workers Welfare fund to restart pension and disability payments to miners and families. Trustees reportedly consider a general revision of the plan though immediate pension hikes are deemed unlikely.
