Old photos mislead about Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman
In West Palm Beach Florida observers note that published images of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman are outdated and shape initial judgments. The widely seen Martin photo shows a smiling child while he was 17, about 6 feet tall and 140 pounds at death. Zimmerman’s mugshot depicts a heavier man. a later police video suggests a slimmer build. Martin was shot by Zimmerman on February 26 in Sanford in a case fueling national debate over race and self defense.
