Michael Garrett McCarty 77 of Ozark Missouri died February 13 2011 in St Johns Hospital Springfield He was born January 7 1934 in Carbondale the son of Edward and Lula McCarty A 1952 Carbondale Community High School graduate he studied at SIU Carbondale served in the US Army two years coached wrestling at Melville High School and Missouri State University He earned a PhD from the University of Missouri Inducted into the Missouri Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame in 1999 Survived by wife Nancy McCarty of Ozark three daughters a stepdaughter and two stepsons four grandchildren and one great grandchild a brother and sister in Springfield IL cremated ashes buried at Missouri Veterans Cemetery February 18 2011 In lieu of flowers contributions may go to Humane Society or other animal rescue groups Sharon Kay Gentry 67 of Freeman Spur died March 29 2011 in Marion Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Born December 31 1943 in Herrin to Thomas and Neva Gentry Survived by sister Lois Garavaglia and Jim Garavaglia of Freeman Spur plus several nieces nephews great nieces and nephews and cousins Preceded by parents three brothers Billy Bobby and James Gentry three sisters Gloria Reed Juanita Bailey and Peggy Ridgeway one niece Cathy Ridgeway and one nephew Rodney Laney Memorial services set for April 1 2011 at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home Herrin Burial Herrin City Cemetery Memorial donations to Hospice of Southern Illinois Memorials accepted at the funeral home for more information visit Hughes Funeral Homes site
