Citadel Ends Nine Year Suit Over Male Only Policy
A federal judge formally dismissed the 1993 suit by Shannon Faulkner challenging The Citadel all male admissions, noting the college eliminated past discriminatory effects and added female cadets. Faulkner enrolled under court order but left after a week. the college opened to women the next year.
