Christopher joins towns choosing home rule in Franklin County
Christopher residents approved the home rule form by more than 60 percent in the March 16 primary. Mayor Gary Bartolotti said the city faced about 70,000 dollars in lost state funding from 2002 to 2003 and will implement a 1 cent sales tax to raise new revenue. Out-of-towners will share the tax burden on fuel purchases and dining, reducing impact on residents. Christopher now joins Lesser as Franklin County’s other home rule community.
