Murphysboro man sentenced in double sexual assault case

Robert E. Gibson of Murphysboro pleaded guilty to one count of home invasion and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault. He received 15 years on each of the assault charges and 10 years on the home invasion, to be served consecutively, with a burglary count dismissed. The incidents included a July 2002 kidnapping from a Carbondale gas station and an SIU dorm intrusion on July 19 2002.
