Evergreen Park hosts 5K and Kid K for charity in chilly Carbondale
About 155 runners braved upper 30s temperatures at Evergreen Park Carbondale to support the Good Samaritan Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen. The 5K wound through Thompson Woods and Campus Lake while Kid K races stayed in the park. Postrace ribbons went to finishers as youths and adults endured wind and mud with cheering crowds and a tuba duo providing entertainment.
