Head shop owner sues government
Danville AP reports Steve Scovil owner of Gold Rush Boutique near Chanute Air Force Base filed a federal lawsuit in Danville seeking 1.6 million dollars. He claims the Air Force and three colonels maliciously interfered with his business by pressuring him to stop selling items linked to marijuana culture including High Times. The suit seeks an injunction and damages.

Tam the law Long Loses Nomination For Sheriff
In DeWitt County Republican primary voter turnout produced Donald E. Massey 1370 to 953 over long time sheriff Keith V. Long who touted Tam the law. Massey will face Charles Williams in the November general election as Williams ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. Long faces 18 indictments from 1977 include charges of battery and official misconduct with several counts still pending.

Walus named as Nazi secret police by second witness
Chicago based witness Joseph Koenigsberg testified that Frank Walus, now 55, was the teenage Gestapo officer who shot an attorney in Poland and helped bury him. Koenigsberg, who helped bury the attorney as part of a slave labor crew, also claimed Walus searched their apartment and beat his father for delaying a sofa. Walus faces possible deportation if civil proceedings succeed.
