Planning for the Chester Eagle Fest on June 11 and 12 is under way with a March 29 7 p.m. planning meeting at the Eagles lodge open to the public. The festival, in its third year, features food stands crafts sports and music with special entertainment each evening and no fees for participating groups benefiting local organizations.

Two arrested on meth charges in Du Quoin
Perry County Deputy Sheriff said a rural Du Quoin residence was searched about 2 p.m. Thursday revealing a meth lab setup. Kimberly J. Busing, 22, of Cross Roads Trailer Park, faces conspiracy to manufacture meth and possession charges. A 16-year-old juvenile was also arrested on drug charges and sent to St Clair County Detention Center.
