Oil prices plunge on war expectations
Oil futures fell nine percent as traders bet US invasion of Iraq will go smoothly and global stockpiles will offset supply losses. April crude dropped to 31.67 a barrel on the NYMEX, the lowest close since January 8. Analysts cite tight inventories and shifting imports but expect volatility and possible use of the 600 million barrel U.S. stockpile if needed.
