Franklin County delays action on animal control ordinance
On March 19 1981 the Franklin County Board postponed final approval of an animal control ordinance for three weeks to allow public comment. The measure sets home property containment penalties and prohibits dumping animals. It provides rabies outbreak quarantines and funds three animal control officers with a pound near Benton. The board also studied county buildings, appointed William Schettler to the Greater Egypt Regional Planning and Development Commission, and awarded fifteen road maintenance contracts.
