Ameren seeks devaluation of utility property tax base
Ameren aims to lower its assessed value for the year, using a 33 percent of fair cash value method that would drop the value from about 45 million to 10 million. The county would collect roughly seven percent in taxes, with half of the reduced assessment potentially taxable under a county Ameren agreement.
