Mattingly presses subdivision rules for orderly growth
Williamson County board member Bill Mattingly said he will vote against approving all subdivision plats until a county subdivision ordinance ensures provision of essential facilities. He criticized lack of procedures for street and improvement standards, citing Lake of Egypt area road inadequacies. The 41-lot Pulley’s Mill subdivision, by John Montgomery, was approved 2-1 despite objections from the Soil and Water Conservation District noting 20 of 40 acres are prime farmland. The site lies west of Illinois 37 in Pulley’s Mill, south of a county road.
