Blood Given to Girl Via Hole in Heart
Penny Rae Raymond, seven, was reported in satisfactory condition at the University of Minnesota Hospital after a two and a half hour operation to seal a hole in the heart wall. A living donor, Ted Goodman, forty one, joined with the child as blood was cut off from her heart while his heart and lungs performed the work for both. Doctors said a hole as large as a nickel was closed in the muscular wall between Penny's heart chambers.
