Carbondale police request help locating 15 year old Arrysha Monique Harris who walked away from a youth services worker after being turned over to a program. Harris left home March 4 and may remain in the Carbondale area. Call 457-3200 with information.
Gary Herren 52 died after his car failed to yield at a stop sign at Illinois 146 and Christian Chapel Road near I 57. His vehicle hit a tractor trailer driven by Thomas Quigg 39 of Colorado Springs who then struck a eastbound semi driven by Melvin Leedle 48 of Mulkeytown. Herren was flown to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale where he died. Quigg and Leedle not seriously injured. No citations issued.
A long list of civil actions filed February to March against individuals and entities. Cases include personal injuries from a swing collapse at West Frankfort Park, forcible detainer actions, rental defaults, constructive trusts, and motor vehicle collision damages. Plaintiffs seek sums ranging from under $15,000 to over $50,000 plus costs, with some suits for punitive or exemplary damages and foreclosure actions.
