Illinois Direct Hogs auctions showed 15,222 head with mostly steady demand and moderate offerings. Trade covered 1 3 weight groups from 18.00 to 20.00, 400-500 lb at 21.00 to 23.00, 500-600 lb at 22.00 to 25.00, and loads over 600 lb at 23.00 to 29.00. Boars under 300 lb 18.00 to 22.00, over 300 lb 4.00 to 6.00.

United Airlines asks U S Bankruptcy Court for up to six more months to file a reorganization plan, citing size and complexity. The six month delay would push the deadline to Oct 6, as unions and analysts scrutinize the low fare carrier strategy amid labor issues and industry crisis.
The Illinois attorney general sued Walgreen Co. in Cook County Circuit Court for violating state disability access laws. The complaint cites steep ramps, cement trash cans, and steel poles as barriers to wheelchair users, despite a state demand for compliance based on Walgreens own survey of over 400 stores. Walgreen’s spokesman blamed winter weather for slow concrete work.
