SIU Carbondale faculty push across the board 2 percent raises
The Southern Illinois University Carbondale Faculty Senate approved two salary formulas to distribute an 8 percent increase among faculty. One plan allocates a straight 2 percent across the board while the rest is merit. A separate plan spreads 6 percent or 100 dollars across the board and the remainder to merit. The proposals, sent to President Albert Sommit, reflect a shift to unit-specific salary advice and include equity reviews and adjustments.
