Skylight burglary suspect flees Marion jail escapee Corbin linked to multiple burglaries

Raymond Corbin 34 of Providence Rhode Island escaped Williamson County Jail Marion by sawing a bar and removing a screen. He faces charges for the Herrin Knight of Columbus Club safecracking and is sought by Jackson County Indiana and federal authorities. He fled with accomplice John Bernard as authorities pursue through Indiana Missouri and Florida connections. Corbin and accomplice are described with vehicle and appearance details and are believed to be traveling in a 1950 black Buick with Missouri plates.

Two Escapees From Miami Jail Scale 23rd Floor and Vanish

Miami police hunt Norman Mackiewicz and Howard Piccott after they escaped a 23rd floor jail cell by using a rope of mattress ticking. They mingled with crowds on Flagler Street and fled, while others in the break were captured within an hour at the jail courthouse.

Great Day For Sawing Out Of Jails

Two jail breaks occurred Sunday night separated by over 1000 miles. In Rhode Island, a prisoner sawn out of Williamson County jail at 6 30 p m. In Florida, four inmates escaped Dade County jail around 7 30 p m E S T. Two Florida escapees were recaptured while Corbin and the remaining two remained at large at noon today.

North Korea agreed to release Capt. Leon Pfeiffer after a meeting of the Military Armistice Commission. Officials said Pfeiffer, parachuted into Communist territory, was in good health and receiving humanitarian treatment. U.N. and Korean delegates debated demilitarized zone violations and warned of retaliation for further air incursions.
