Today's negotiated purchases show Illinois direct hogs at 13,180 head with prices 1.00 to 2.00 lower amid light demand and moderate offerings. 1-3 300-400 lb hogs 17.00-19.00, 400-500 lb 18.00-21.00, 500-600 lb 20.00-24.00, over 600 lb 21.00-23.00, few at 25.00. Boars under 300 lb 15.00-21.00, over 300 lb 3.00-8.00.
On Friday trading saw declines across grain futures at the Chicago Board of Trade. Wheat for May delivery dropped 20 cents to 11.05 a bushel while March corn fell 23.5 cents to 5.335 a bushel and March oats slid 19 cents to 3.91 a bushel.
