Two Kansas City Men Sentenced in Murphysboro Case
Louis Shelby and Ben Brown, both 24, were sentenced in Jackson County Circuit Court to prison terms for armed robbery and unlawful restraint related to an abduction at a forest service rest area near Gorham on November 12. Shelby received 7 1 2 to 15 years plus 1 to 3 years. Brown 9 to 18 years plus 1 to 3 years. sentences run concurrently.

Four men held in theft case in Harrisburg area
Four men were arrested in connection with the theft of six color televisions a console stereo a tool box and a pickup truck from Gidcomb Furniture Store at 16 S Vine St Harrisburg. Suspects include Robert Dale Roberts 19 Walter Cochran 17 Everett Woodcock 23 all of Eldorado and Bill Hayes 24 of Stonefort. The recovered truck was found abandoned near Interstate 13 after a cooperative investigation by local and county agencies. Items valued over 3000 were recovered. no charges or bonds set yet.

James Keith Dodd of 1200 East Ninth Street West Frankfort was placed on four years probation by Judge William Lewis Searee. The court also fined 300 dollars and ordered restitution in the case.
