Molina Re-ups with Cardinals Five-Year 75 Million Deal
Cardinal Yadier Molina signs a five-year 75 million contract to stay in St. Louis through 2017. The deal, likely worth over 90 million with options, makes him the second highest paid catcher and anchors a Cardinals core alongside Beltran Furcal and Pujols replacement discussions. Molina cited commitment to the franchise while DeWitt and Mozeliak praised his defense and leadership as Matheny noted the move as a no brainer.
