Marion gains a Sherwin-Williams paint store on De Young Street after a warm reception. Manager Joe Endsley notes strong contractor business and growing retail interest, with two grand openings planned for contractors and retail customers. The contractor event runs Thursday 10 am to 2 pm with lunch, while the retail opening is today 8 am to 5 pm. Marion man sentenced to four years for aggravated battery
An 18 year old Marion man, David Durham, received a four year sentence in Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to aggravated battery for stabbing Dillon Stearns in the back during an incident in Herrin on June 6, 2002. Judge John Speroni presided in Williamson County Circuit Court.
