Mount Vernon wrestler Ernie Badger placed fourth in the 185-pound class at the Class AA State Wrestling Tournament after upsetting defending champion Dave Marshall 19-14 in a quarterfinal. He defeated Mitch Hartmann in round one, lost to Kevin Carlson in the semifinals, and fell to Kirk Trost for third, ending the season 38-2.
