Slayer seeks clemency for Woodrow Reed in manslaughter case
Woodrow Reed 51 of Creal Springs filed a clemency petition with Gov. Samuel Shapiro while serving five to 10 years for voluntary manslaughter linked to the July 29 1965 shooting of Coke Wallace 26 at the Creal Springs Veterans of Foreign Wars Club. Reed, who pleaded guilty to the lesser charge, cites self defense and his ailing mother to request a reduced minimum term.
