Illinois lawmakers approve funding for airport authority
The Illinois General Assembly sent to Gov. James Thompson bills funding the St Louis Metropolitan Airport Authority for the next fiscal year and a hazardous waste disposal ban with a $25 million state fund to cover potential leaks. Also approved were laws on victims profits, corn snow fences, student on the Scholarship Commission, strip searches, academic excellence scholarships, pledge of allegiance in schools, and a sunset review law for major state regulatory agencies.
