Jury Eyes Charges Against Show Bar Operators
A federal grand jury in Johnston City is expected to meet in late July to decide whether to file charges against Show Bar operators. U S Attorney Henry Schwartz said the panel will be empaneled after a new juror list is prepared in mid July. The bar was raided last October by the IRS during the Pool Hustlers Tournament with cash and gambling paraphernalia seized. The DA's office seeks permission to subpoena a TV news film for the grand jury, hoping it will aid the July session. The Justice Department has not yet responded to the subpoena request.
