Gallup Poll Shows Scranton Favored by GOP Grassroots
A Gallup nationwide survey of rank and file Republicans and independents finds Gov. William Scranton leading Sen. Barry Goldwater for the Republican nomination if the convention narrowed to the two. Among Republicans Scranton leads 35 to 34 with 41 undecided, while independents favor Scranton 62 to 24 with 14 undecided.
