Senate OKs restricted atom waste dumping in Illinois
The Illinois Senate approved a bill to halt import of spent nuclear fuel from states that refuse Illinois waste, sending the measure to the House. The vote was 34-14, amid debate over Three Mile Island and a broader push on hazardous waste controls and emergency funding.
