Cocktail parties bring cheer to Kingsbrook rehab unit
At Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn the rehabilitation unit hosts biweekly Friday cocktail parties. Patients, aided by staff, share music, dance, and snacks prepared by the hospital kitchen, creating a psychologically therapeutic break from routine. Dr. Asa P. Ruskin initiated the idea to help patients enjoy activities common at home.
