Illinois Central Railroad crossed the 200 million mark in gross revenue tax payments with the June semi annual payment. The company paid 1.8 million to the Illinois state treasurer in June. IC remains the only state corporation required to pay gross revenue tax under its charter. The 7 percent tax applies to revenue earned on 705 miles of charter lines, in lieu of ad valorem or property taxes on those original 1851 miles.
