Sappenfield heads club petitions to condemn six parcels
In Murphysboro Jackson County Circuit Court petitions by Sappenfield to condemn six parcels as public health and safety menaces were approved. Two properties were dismissed after evidence showed they had already been cleared. City Atty. Richard White said court orders would authorize the city to clear cited properties, with private contracts for clearing and salvage rights to offset costs. The cited properties include several streets and towns in Mt. Carbon and Murphysboro, with witnesses from the county health department and city inspectors.
