Tim Landis reports that Craig Haney a UC Santa Cruz psychologist who studied the 1980 New Mexico prison riot described conditions at Marion as dangerous and chilling during his testimony in a case claiming the near two year lockdown violates inmate rights. He warned of social withdrawal mental distress and potential violence if inmates lack outlets for hostility.
