Buckskin Hike Recalls George Rogers Clark Trek Across Illinois
About 25 hikers in buckskin cloathing reenact the 1778 Clark march starting Fort Massac State Park. They travel through Ferne Clyffe Giant City Lake Murphysboro and other parks with 1770s weapons and frontier meals. A July schedule runs through Kaskaskia Fort de Chartres Red Bud Waterloo Cahokia ending July 17 at Cahokia Courthouse.
