Summer health hazard from food spoilage warns picnickers
Dr. David P. Richerson, health officer, Franklin Williamson Bi County Health Department, warns summer picnickers to avoid food poisoning from improper refrigeration. Symptoms include cramps nausea vomiting and diarrhea. Canned foods, fish, shrimp, meat, poultry and cereals show spoilage signs such as odors, discoloration, and texture changes. Refrigerate leftovers below 45 degrees and discard after 36 hours unless reheated. Spoilage is caused by bacterial growth and refrigeration slows it.

Jacoby On Bridge Many Paths To Slam
Oswald Jacoby notes multiple routes to six spades in a hand. He cites North’s cautious overcall, a bold two bid, and a key four spades bid by Mrs. Hawes with Dr. Fisher in Little Rock. With trumps breaking 2-2, the slam succeeds despite uncertain North-South cards.
