Du Quoin selects Jim Booker to school board and hires Gossett
The Du Quoin School District appointed Jim Booker, a local police officer, to the board and hired Jeff Gossett as assistant high school principal. Gossett, with 16 years at Christopher High School, earned a three year contract starting at 57 000 with 3000 annual raises. The board also filled multiple coaching and teaching positions and addressed budget concerns amid reduced state aid and late Perry County tax revenues. Larry Walier was elected board president and Paul McPherson vice president.
