Johnson County extends ambulance volunteers' prep time
Johnson County Board delayed the voluntary takeover of the county ambulance service to next Monday, citing lack of volunteers, missing insurance, and no separate legal entity. About 30 volunteers will train with paid staff as funding remains tight and salaries come from ambulance revenues. The board will hear legal framework and insurance needs at the July 1 meeting. Howard L. McCormick was appointed to the Housing Authority Board, replacing Delbert Brown. A Diabetes Association raffle request was denied. G. W. "Bud" Phillips was named chair of the Board of Review. Insurance policies were moved to Home Insurance Company with Lawrence Insurance Agency local agent.
