Murphysboro ends SIEG membership for budget reasons
Murphysboro will leave the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group effective July 1 after weighing costs and benefits. Police Chief Jeff Bock cited annual SIEG dues of about 13 000 dollars and said more value comes from investing in local police work and Project Safe Neighborhoods.
