Birth to 3 program at Archway differs from day care

Archway Inc in Carbondale operates Birth to 3 for children with developmental delays and other needs. Funded partly by the Illinois Department, the program serves 27 Southern Illinois counties via five agencies and includes speech and physical therapy, circle time, self-feeding and direction-following lessons.

Five receive education service awards at SIU Carbondale

Five individuals were honored by Phi Delta Kappa at Southern Illinois University Carbondale for services to education. Charles Lerner of Carbondale and Earl Edmonds of Anna joined Carol Kimmel of Rock Island, William Norwood of Elk Grove Village, and Kenneth Miller of Mount Vernon as 1981 Lay Leader in Education Award recipients.
