Rend Lake Conservancy District raises 1980 budget
The Rend Lake Conservancy District board boosted general corporate appropriations to 973 400 dollars for 1980 and set 1 965 200 dollars for Intercity Water System operations to serve 54 communities. Electricity costs rise 170 000 dollars amid a Southeast Illinois Electric Cooperative rate hike, while chemicals funding drops to 300 000 dollars as usage declines. Maintenance and HUD loan repayments rise, and about 50 people will be hired under CETA, the district’s largest local employer.
